I want to change telephone socket wire coming out of wall has 4 wires in it red, blue, brown, green. New plug goes on about 6 different coloured wires - does any body know what wires go in to which terminals(1-6) - cheers.

colur code for new style bt socket
white orange no4
white blue no5
white green no6
orange white no3
blue white no2
green white no1

Hi try this Blue wire to 2, I think your red could be Orange to 5.
