How do I remove a cylinder lock when the screw is rusted

Postby Mark » Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:22 pm

Got a couple of standard Euro cylinders in my patio doors which need replacing. Only problem is the locking screw is completely rusted solid. Tried with reasonable force but the screw is disintegrating. Anyone know how to get the cylinder out? Can it be drilled?
Thanks in advance.

Just had same problem, had to drill both sides of lock, until the little lock tags break up,then get screwdriver and turn the inner barrel until the lock slides out. Hope this helps
