I PRESUME YOU MEAN DOWN LIGHTS ?
SIMPLE ANSWER - NO
DOWN LIGHTS GIVE OFF HEAT
LEAVE A SPACE AROUND THEM

Hi Graeme,
If they are down-lighters either low voltage or mains then they must have a free air space round them. One tip that came up a while ago on this forum is to place a terracotta (not plastic) plant-pot over the light on the ceiling, a 3ins one was suggested but I would have thought a larger one would be better so that it would be deeper than the insulation to let the excess heat escape through the hole in the bottom of the pot,
