Extension in residential area (Gable end - front of neighbou

Postby Ian » Sat Nov 03, 2007 9:52 pm

I am planning a 2 storey extension to the side of my detached house. A friend has recently mentioned to me that I may be restricted as the extension I have planned is not a gable end - gable end. Is there a general rule for meterage distance between my property and a neighbours if the side of my extension is facing a neighbours house? (i.e 12, 15 or 18m)

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,
Before you go too far with plans call and have a chat with your local council planning department who will be able to tell you what is allowed in your area,
John
